About Us

TURTLE MOUNTAIN ROASTERS is located in the foothills of the Turtle Mountains in northern ND. Todd & Beth are both native to North Dakota and share the love for a smooth, rich, black cup of coffee. They are picky about what is in their coffee (chemical & additives), where it comes from and what it tastes like. They started roasting coffee beans when they noticed a change in the quality and flavor of what was available in the big box stores several years ago. When coffee no longer became enjoyable to drink, they set out on a mission to find the best green coffee beans available from around the world. They finally got back into the love of what a good cup of coffee tastes like and want to share their roasted beans with everyone.

TODD is a scientist who has been traveling the world his whole life. He has lived in Thailand, Alaska and Texas doing agricultural outreach and at NOAH as a marine biologist. He is now back in ND where his roots are and continues to do the things he loves. He currently owns and operates a commercial greenhouse in Bottineau, along with putting his scientific knowledge to use as he roasts each batch of beans according to the profile desired... along with Beth's input of course.

BETH has always had a deep love for a good cup of coffee. From the age of 5 (or before) she has fond memories of playing "Country Kitchen" when visiting her grandma on the farm. As she dunked homemade donuts in her delicious cup of grandma's coffee, she was referred to as Mrs. Applebee and grandma was Mrs. Thornbush. She worked as a graphic artist before opening her coffee business where she sells their roasted coffee beans. Together they work hard to grow plants in the spring for customers to enjoy all season long. Along with their greenhouse duties, they spend most of their time roasting coffee beans in their store. This has always been a dream of Beth's and now she is living it! I guess you could say that she is truly living Life by the Beans!

Making Coffee

Mission

We are firm believers that nothing should be added to coffee beans before or after roasting. Preservatives do not agree with many people, and we do not think it belongs in or on our coffee. We believe that beans should come fresh to us from top quality farms that have been hand-picked by a highly trained team and shipped directly to our distributor for us to purchase.

Vision

When roasting beans, you need to know what altitude the berries were grown, the density of the bean and the temperatures each batch should be roasted to achieve the best quality coffee. We strive to bring out the best flavor profile that our beans have to offer.
